The secret to happiness is priorities.
The secret to super strength, recovery and resiliency - in physical power and in life (and power in life) is flexibility.
Bruce Lee knew this and used it to rehabilitate himself from a nearly life destroying accident that broke his back. Jack LaLanne (the father of exercise for women AND television/video exercise at home) also knew this and incorporated it into many of his calisthenics programs. (You'll hear a lot about Jack LaLanne. He is my hero for many reasons.)
So this post is all about videos to inspire, motivate and to show you that when it comes down to it, the quality of our lives begins and ends with the condition of our bodies as much as it does our minds.
So here, is an eye popping video about BECOMING flexible at 63. The story attached to the video on the flexibility website is worth reading. I recommend surfing over to it.
And this fun little video is the first episode of the Jack LaLanne show from the 1950's when television first started appearing in average households! This impish little man who looks as gay and fairy like as Tinkerbell's twin brother in this jumpsuit and those shoes... what are those shoes?!... is still a hot piece of property and dressed in more time appropriate clothing like we see today and he would have all the females flocking to his yard for very personal training and protein shakes. Seriously... get past the outfit and look at this guy! Hell yeah, sister!
And finally, just because no discussion of Jack LaLanne is ever complete without talking about his superhuman accomplishments of fitness at the age most folks are struggling to get out of their recliners or bend over to tie their shoes, this is Mr. La-La-LaLanne celebrating his 70th (yes 70 years old) birthday. The mind boggles at how virile this guy must have been in his 20's, 30's, 40's and those amazing 50's when men are finally something you can enjoy going to dinner with. Prepare to be dumbfounded.
And just for good measure, here is Jack LaLanne when he was young and one, in an art photo. Warning: nudity in the last pic. I don't know how anyone found this but its him and good lord.....
Nudity below. Do not scroll down if you are easily offended.
Then again, if you are easily offended, what the hell are you doing reading THIS blog?
And ladies, your welcome. :-)
