June 2020 Horoscope: part 1 - Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus

The sun rolls through Gemini this month inviting an eclipse while moving across a constellation of dynamic and troublemaking fixed stars in the Pleiadian constellation.

We start the month off with Mercury in Cancer and out of bounds by declination until June 6th, and an eclipse at 15 Sagittarius dropping on June 5th.

Expect this eclipse (felt from May 25, 2020 to June 11th, 2020) to continue to wreak havoc on plans and pursuits like a bucking bronco. This eclipse draws in Mars and Neptune in Pisces during its activity and promises to spotlight communications, scapegoating and matters of principles, ethics and the greater good. Major disastrous flooding or "overflow" of something that threatens to overwhelm people is more likely at this time. This is a time of "Christ" energy and exploiting the disadvantage or weakness of people in positions of hardship or social "castaway" status will have devastating repercussions. In terms of our current pandemic, multiple variant mutations that are virulent, strong and more confusing than the parent virus strains is also possible at this time. Expect everything to be accelerated at this time. We are in a portal right now.

During this time, our uncomfortable retrograde Venus in Gemini is combust the Sun for most of this. There is one day of exception and that is June 3rd, when it is in the protected position of being "at the heart of the Sun". It will feel alot like being in calm and unexpectedly peaceful eye of a storm.

Circle this date, June 3, 2020 because events here will have significant portent or potential impact later when Venus goes direct and crosses this degree again on July 17-18, 2020 (auspiciously, Mercury will go direct a few days before this and make this return to that degree even more significant)

This month has some interesting undertones as Uranus in Taurus remains the Agent Provocateur and Saturn in Aquarius supports its causes like a martial arts sensei who is both unrelenting challenger and buttress of unwavering support at the same time. Saturn in Aquarius is *technically* too far out from a serious aspect to Uranus to be considered an aspect (if you use tight orbs) BUT because Saturn in Aquarius is essentially making an applying hard aspect between its co-rulers (Uranus rules Aquarius AND Saturn also rules Aquarius), we are still hearing distant echoes of what will come. Like the thundering of hooves in the distance, you are given plenty of fair warning that something of mighty force is heading your way even if you can't see it yet.

Saturn in Aquarius square Uranus! Pump the brakes before it breaks!

And that may very well be what this will feel like in action. Saturn square Uranus, regardless of signs is always a bit of a bumper car ride. Saturn wants to slow down and stop, approach cautiously, have the destination and the maps reviewed ahead of time while Uranus is so busy trying to get on with things and get there faster that they often have to back up, redirect and jolt forward again only to repeat the process. With these two together trying to control the navigational tools and the accelerator and brakes, it is a constant, stop-start-stop-start battle to get anywhere at all.

The other side of this is that together, they rule metallurgy and alloy metals. Space age and "invented" metals like space age aluminum and super alloy metals for rockets are one example of what happens when these two combine forces. Here's another example: https://matmatch.com/blog/top-metals-for-3d-printing.

Its not always bad when two hard planets come together, but it is also never easy.

The key to finding something positive in their combination is giving them the correct context to exist in. Saturn and Uranus as a group therapy facilitator? Only if it is for something like primal scream therapy. Saturn and Uranus as the person who discovered that reducing your oxygen intake availability with a mask could actually improve your lung endurance and efficiency by increasing the resistance during exercise? Good, even if it seems more like a CIA torture
idea.

With Saturn, in its sign of rulership, Aquarius - it has tremendous power and a significant increase in influence over anything it comes into contact with. In a hard aspect with its rulership partner, Uranus, this creates some incredibly "make it or break it" tests of resolve, commitment and courage. The finest, hand forged steel from the pre-industrial epoch was forged with grueling labor, unbearable heat, nearly superhuman strength and a tacit commitment to the project. Once started, you did not and could not stop or all your previous time and effort would be lost. The Greek mythology of Hephaestus is the essence of the Saturn/Uranus expression. From brute force and raw power, incredible products of delicate, artistic and fine precision are made that cannot be replicated any other way. From a source so ugly that is considered a creature, a vulgarity, an undesirable and offensive thing that must be hidden from view - the greatest works of art and beauty issue forth that are as immortal and coveted as Venus, with her grace and charm. But all that Hephaestus produced was born of endurance, force and sheer will to create. Hephaestus gave birth to beauty and inspiration in the same way that women endure the pain and vulgar mess of childbirth to produce the same.

Saturn and Uranus together in hard aspect are Hephaestus.

The final significator for them in Taurus speaks of raw materials, earthly resources, minerals, metals, precious gems... the Venusian gifts of the earth that are hard and support structures, both natural and man made. In its most simplistic interpretation, yes, it indicates money and shock waves to our banking structures and stock markets. In its true and essential interpretation, it is about raw materials and the break down of "the machine" because the original design is flawed. If the intention is to revolutionize the machine, to rebuild the metal into a tool that can be powerful and can be of benefit, then the process cannot be stopped once it is started. We must all become Hephaestus and be prepared to accept that our superficial ugliness is not the measure of us and the beautiful and delicately crafted structures we can produce is where our genius and value is. We must be prepared to see it through to the end if we are going to redeem ourselves for all the ugliness that we face the world with in our natural state.

The good news is that the eclipse later in the month at 0 Cancer gives us an opportunity to find the gem hidden in the rubbish if we are willing to trust our instincts and better natures.

Uranus disposits Saturn and Venus disposits Uranus and Mercury disposits Venus and the Moon disposits Mercury and Jupiter disposits the Moon and Saturn disposits Jupiter, bringing us back full circle. All of which is to say that this eclipse is a bigger deal than it first appears, and is more of a "completing the circle" or bringing us to the entry/exit point of the ride than we realize. Sometimes, when we think of completing a circle, we think of "circling the wagons". A tactic that nomads and early pioneers would do to protect themselves when under attack. They would create a closed circle with their wagons so that the perimeter of the circle acted like a protective shield from all sides for the occupants in the circle of wagons. We still use this expression today "circle the wagons" when we talk about people closing communications and excluding everyone except a small group of individuals who are equally committed to protecting each other as a matter of survival. We may see this strategy played out in more dramatic fashion in many different groups we belong to.

Or we may see things coming to a slowing halt with the unmistakable feeling that the fun ride is over and it will be time to get off and return to the world with the rest of the folks who weren't lucky enough to be on the ride with you. Or we may see both. Whichever it is, there is more going on than first meets the eye.

For your consideration, the chandra symbols, fixed star and sabian symbol for this eclipse at 15 Sagittarius. Sometimes the symbols are literal. Sometimes they are not. What do the symbols inspire you to believe might be coming up this month?

Chandra Symbol: SAGITTARIUS 15
A TIDAL WAVE APPROACHING

The momentum of collective events runs toward flood tide when there is a major transition from one whole cycle to another. The personal life stream runs in similar patterns. When you're getting ready to take off in a whole different direction, there is first a transition that is both immensely exciting and fantastically disturbing. You feel just about swept away by the oncoming changes and just before they really get going, the tension, the pressure, and the strain can tear you apart. You want to go with it, yet you yearn for sanctuary. This keen ambivalence gets loaded with desire, anticipation, memory pictures, and utopian visions. The mix is volatile. Learning how to ride this wave is such a great endeavor that it, in itself, becomes what it is all about. The consummate opportunity to open wide, but stay substantively firm and concentrated. Mastery or bust. The infinite future or wipe-out. A spine-tingler all the way.

The Sabian Symbol for 15 Sagittarius is: THE GROUNDHOG LOOKING FOR ITS SHADOW ON GROUNDHOG DAY

KEYNOTE: The value of anticipating new turns of events and ascertaining future prospects.

In our modern industrial society where policy changes and decisions often take several years to reach full actualization, it has become essential to plan with an eye on probable future developments. Such planning requires a study of past trends and the extrapolation of the results. What above all is implied in the symbol is a sensitivity to social or planetary rhythms, and the need to ensure at least relative safety by planning ahead.

This is the last symbol in this fifty-first sequence. Something of the meanings of the first four is involved in the process it suggests. In its highest form the knowledge required is “eonic consciousness” — in modern terms the new science of PROSPECTIVE.

The fixed star near this degree is: Ras Algethi at 16 Sagittarius.

Things to note about this fixed star since it is highlighted by this eclipse: "The star presages both the good and bad sides of Saturn. .... But, by its very Mars nature, Ras Algethi corresponds to boldness and a drive to gain power. .... The constellation is indicative of events that affect large portions of mankind, and the Man Kneeling presages earthquakes if poorly placed with respect to an eclipse."
