The Death of George Floyd at the hands of police officer, Derek Chauvin. Part 1 of an astrology lesson series.

part 1: Racism in a chart. For those of you who are interested, here are the charts for George Floyd (time and place of birth unknown at this time. This is a noon chart set for Minneapolis where he died), Derek Chauvin (time of birth unknown, this is a noon chart), Minneapolis (there are two charts on the internet. One is Mineapolis Minnesota and the other is St Paul, which is identified as the state's chart even though it is later in years than the Minneapolis chart. The St Paul chart seems to correlate with the current transits more clearly so we are using it) - and finally, the time of recorded death according to the EMS report filed with the city. It clearly states 8:30 pm although it is bright enough to see outside. I am not familiar with Minnesota so maybe this is normal for this time of year? Here are the charts.

It is important to note that you will not see "racism" indicators in a chart. Racism, at the level and scale we are dealing with globally and for as many generations back as it has existed, is an institutional, group-think, cultural brain-washing issue not an exceptional quirk occasionally found by a planetary alignment in a chart. What is useful to know is that reframing these things helps us to understand what we are looking at and how better to understand what contributes to someone's embracing of it (beyond the obvious things like systemic racism or misogyny benefitting some individuals and hence, their complicit or overt support of it). If you look at Derek's chart - there is an emphasis on Cancer and Aries with Saturn in Cancer. These are all indicators of someone who will embrace "tribalism" and thrives in groups where there is a sense of exclusive belonging based on "tribe" identity. He also carries a Scorpio moon and Scorpio/Taurus axis has a strong affinity to "tribal" mentality but typically limiting it to extremely personal relations (family/close friends) and not to communities at large and even then, only if it can be considered "family" or "brotherhood", etc. Aries, Cancer, Capricorn are all tribal ethnocentric signs. They like the things that look like themselves and support their identities and status within homogenous groups. Libra is the only one of this group that is not typically locked into a limitation based on social lines of division. This may be a function of their air element in their sign or their deeply embedded sense of identity as a partnership with someone else so their loyalties will go to whom will serve them best, rather than whom their "tribe" will offer approval of. Libra is, after all, the sign of the diplomat and the gold-digger who always keeps their options open. (Capricorn is the sign of the social climber and keeping options open only works in a vertically climbing manner since settling for less is never an option for them More about this event soon.
